The wind of change

The work on this project started in 27 august 2005 and it was finalized exactly two years later. It's an image constructed as a diptych. It consists of two parts/sides which are in complete opposition.

The basic idea is the already known artistic theme of good versus bad. The entire image is filled with a multitude of symbols and correlations between the two parts. The same thing as seen through two different perspectives. One thing can be very good and very bad, it only depends on how you see it.

This image is dedicated to Aliz�e Jacotey.

Digital Morning

This image is named Digital Morning, because the subject is a PC in a sunny morning. I want to show a happy/sunny morning in front of a PC. All the objects were made at a real scale. I've worked on this scene from december 2003 until late june 2004. I used radiosity, caustics (for the globe on the desk) and SSS (for the courtains).

Special thanks to Shademaster and Cinemike for suggestions and critiques during the creative proccess.

This image has:

- appeared in the "Besf of Cinema 4D" gallery from January 2005 issue of the 3D Attack magazine;

- been featured on the front page of the Cinema 4D Belgium web site;

- been on the 9th place in the "Cinema 4D Hot 20" gallery from Renderosity.com;

- been featured as a Daily Deviation on DeviantArt.com.

This is inspired by children book covers. It doesn't have lots of details, I tried to keep it simple and to capture the special dreamy mood.

Morning Vanilla

With this image, I tried to make a vanilla themed room in a summer morning. I used simple furniture to not overwhelm the viewer with too many details, so s/he can focus on the light-mood.

I did not use any lights in this image. The light setup is only radiosity based.

Imagine yourself drinking a cold 'n refreshing juice in a very hot summer. Or, imagine yourself being in a very dense vineyard and looking at the sunlight thru the leafs. This is the concept I tried to capture with simple spheres playing with lights 'n colours.

Herbanaculum

This image got the name Herbanaculum after the song Hibernaculum by Mike Oldfield . I made a SF plant in a world full of abnormal vegetation. The focused plant is very special because it emits light.
I would appreciate critiques on the artwork its self.

Mecoforthosis

The image represents an alien plant being eaten by bugs. Currently the bugs are on its leafs, going down for the core. This alien plant is self propelled and it feeds with negative light .

Try inverting the image. Enjoy the view.
